Robert Gentilcore – Care Management Software Consultant With the Client at Heart

From an early age, Robert Gentilcore (Rob) had always been interested in IT and software. Coming from a hard-working Italian family whose cultural values are about caring for others, joining a tech start-up that was NDIS care delivery and support focused made sense.

Before joining the Lumary team in 2016, Rob worked in marketing and finances, and freelanced as a website developer. Then one day his good friend Joseph Mercorella asked him if he could build a website for a health-tech company he was co-founding [formerly named Enrite Care]. Humbled by the request, he said yes.

Whilst creating the initial website for what would become Australia’s leading software provider for the disability and aged care industries [Lumary], Rob applied to be a Salesforce consultant. The suitable person had to have experience working with people and an ability to understand their needs, coupled with the right tech skills to leverage the capabilities of the Salesforce platform. After all, hiring someone who had experience with people and tech were not the only qualities the role required — they needed someone who had a desire to keep the NDIS participant at the centre of every delivery project. Just like the English translation of his surname, Rob’s kind-hearted nature made him the perfect fit for the role. 

When Lumary was formed Rob became the VP of Customer Success. Like most early tech start-ups, Rob found himself wearing many hats. In a single day he could be preparing for a product demonstration, speaking with clients on how to best enhance their systems, working on customer support enquiries or even lending a hand with the operational side of the business.

“Lumary is an innovative company that is client focused,” he said. “We want the best for providers so they can provide quality care for their clients.”

Following his passion for caring for others, Rob is focussed on understanding and learning how best to support disability and aged care organisations. Rob genuinely cares about finding the best outcome for any size provider and is transparent in his approach. He truly believes it is essential that any connected digital solution must bring value to an organisation’s workforce, support them through change management and assist support workers as they deliver quality care to their clients.

As Senior Account Executive at Lumary, Rob continues to work closely with NDIS, aged care and disability providers to develop end-to-end digital solutions that are the right fit for their organisations. 

“It’s all about forming a relationship with someone,” he said. “I try to understand what Lumary can do [for providers] not just now but long term from a strategic sense and how Lumary can align with their business.”

Deciding on a new technology partner for any provider can be challenging. Having trust in those involved in a partnership is essential. Rob makes it his mission to get to know and converse with the people within an organisation who are looking to embark on a new digital journey.
